Welcome to NIAES
Welcome to the website of the Northern Ireland Adviser on Employment and Skills. I hope find it informative in developing your business.
As the Adviser on Employment and Skills my role is to provide evidence based employment and skills advice to the Minister for Employment and Learning and the UK Commission for Employment and Skills. In June 2009, I established an Advisory Group to support me in this role. In the year 2010/11, the Group commissioned two task groups to examine and make recommendations on the following areas to help improve our local economy:
identification of priority skills areas in Northern Ireland;
and
improving the effectiveness of the employment and skills infrastructure
.
I am pleased to inform you that these reports are now available and can be viewed by clicking on the title of the report you wish to view above.
I believe the recommendations in these reports will help to develop the employment and skills base needed to grow our economy. I would encourage you to read the reports and consider the findings and recommendations included in them.
